Anatomy of Intimacy
The Anatomy of Intimacy is a series inspired by the relationship at the point of convergence between science and aesthetics: the human body. Through the use of anatomical metaphors, they explore the themes surrounding human relationships — intimacy, honesty, vulnerability, commitment, deception, procreation and ageing. Made from polymer clay, tissue paper and resin, these miniature figures are at once beautiful and grotesque, frail and brave. They represent a celebration of our dearest organ, the heart, with all its shortcomings, hopeless desires and imperfections that make it so human.
